The Basic Must Haves

These are items I take with me wherever I go, no matter the occasion.

Face Wash

I have very sensitive skin and am allergic to many things, so I have to watch what I use. The face washes I use that work really well with my skin are: Clean & Clear essentials foaming facial cleanser (sensitive skin brand) and more recently Cetaphil. Cetaphil helped me a lot when my skin got irritated from wearing face coverings. I have used Clean & Clear for years. I feel like my skin gets moderately oily so I wash my face morning and night with this. I alternate between using the two.

My Nalgene Water Bottle

I am all for a good reusable water bottle. I really like the Nalgene brand because they are great with helping me keep track of how much water I have been drinking, and they are sturdy.

Mascara, Concealer, Brow

I am not a big makeup person. Mostly because I do not know how to do makeup very well. The three things I do wear though and always have on hand is my Maybelline mascara, Maybelline concealer, and NYX Brow Pen. I love the Maybelline mascara because with this applicator brush my lashes do not get clumpy and the color makes my eyes pop. I get compliments all the time on my lashes when I wear it. I use concealer when needed to cover up any problem areas/dark circles I may have, and I use the brow pencil because it makes my blonde brows more noticeable.

A Good Chapstick

You can't go wrong with good old fashioned Chap Stick. My lips sometimes get dry during the summer and winter months so Chapstick is always good for me to have.

Beach Travel Essentials

These are items I pack on beach vacations.

Sunscreen

If you burn in the sun as easily as I do, you're going to need a good sunscreen.

Sunglasses

For function and fashion purposes, I carry a good pair of sunglasses to handle the brightness of the beach.

Swimsuit CoverUp / Sarong

I love swimsuit coverups and sarongs because they are so trendy and stylish. They also come in handy if you do not feel comfortable just walking around in your swimsuit.

Sandals

Sandals are just the easiest shoe to wear at the beach. They pair well with all of your beach outfits and are easier to wear in the sand than most other shoes.

Beach Hat

Hats help me protect my face from the sun and provide a little shade. My face is the part of my body that is most susceptible to getting sunburnt. Plus they are just really stylish.

Beach Bag

Lugging around miscellaneous beach items is better with a good beach bag.

Camping and Hiking Essentials

These are items that I recommend you take on any camping and/or hiking trip, that not every person may already have.

Good Hiking Boots

It is very important to have good footwear when hiking. These are the hiking boots that I own. They will keep your feet dry and provide good traction for slippery and/or rocky terrain. This brand is also very comfortable, and comfort is key.

Sleeping Pads

Sleeping pads are a life saver when camping. Just stick them in your sleeping bag and they provide that needed comfort when camping. They keep you from sleeping directly on hard ground and your back will thank you.

Sleeping Bags

A good sleeping bag will keep you warm in the cooler months and comfortable in the warmer months. It is also a plus if it is compact and lightweight enough to fit comfortably in your backpack.

Camping Stove

If you do not have access to a fire and need to cook or heat up some food, a camping stove is what you will need. This one Andrew and I have is a great size for backpacking.

Hiking Backpack

A good backpack will help you with carrying all your equipment and make it much easier to do so. I have an Osprey that Andrew got for me one birthday at REI.
